Bio
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. My first love was music; I started playing drums when I was 5 and later trained as an orchestral percussionist. I attended the the New World School of the Arts and Interlochen Center for the Arts where I studied with Keith Aleo, and then later at the Oberlin Conservatory where I double majored in Percussion Performance studying with Michael Rosen and TIMARA (Music Technology) studying with Gary Nelson. It was at Oberlin, through music technology, and the desire to build my own music software, that I discovered my love for coding and building technology.
I launched my career in technology after Oberlin, spending a decade in finance designing and building trading systems for Wall Street investment banks and startups including JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch and Liquidnet and then the first mobile banking/wallet in the US for Firethorn Mobile (acq. Qualcomm). Then I moved to the Bay Area and had the pleasure of being on the founding team of two incredible startups, AllTrails and Brightline, and spent a few years at Meta.
When not working, I’m probably hanging out with my wife, our two kids and our chickens! I enjoy spending time on outdoor adventures: I’m an avid cyclist, my family camps in our customized Airstream, I ride motorcycles and I’m learning to sail. I’m also still an active performing musician and play throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
